Applying feature codes guide

Feature codes are used to enable features on OxTS units, some of which come by default with a unit and others can be purchased for additional functionality. Feature codes are unique to a particular unit.

 You will only be able to use feature codes if you have the following versions of firmware and software:

            -firmware version 130122 (or newer)

            -RT Software Suite version 130307 (or newer)

 You can check your firmware version from the Connection window in NAVdisplay:

1. NAVdisplay 
2. Utilities > Device status > feature codes 

Viewing the feature codes on your system using NAVconfig

1. Open NAVconfig and connect to your device 
2. Select the information 'i' icon in the lower left-hand corner of the window

Applying feature codes using NAVdisplay

1. You will normally receive feature codes via an email from us, so the first step is to download this file and place it a suitable location on your computer.
2. Power up the unit and connect to it via Ethernet.
3. Open NAVdisplay
4. Go to Utilities>Quick config
5. In the Quick Config window, click the Advanced option on the left-hand side.
6. Click the "…" button next to the "Enter directory" input box.
7. Locate the folder where the feature code file is saved.
   
8. Click the "Select File" drop-down menu and select the feature code file.
9. Click "Apply".
10. Reset the unit by typing "!reset" in the "Enter Command" input box. Please make sure to use this soft reset instead of a full power cycle to ensure the feature code is applied correctly
11. Once the unit has reset, open Utilities > Device status > feature codes. This should now reflect the new functionality of the unit.
12. If this procedure has failed to update the unit, contact support@oxts.com.

Applying feature codes using NAVconfig

1. You will normally receive feature codes via an email from us, so the first step is to download this file and place it a suitable location on your computer.
2. Power up the unit and connect to it via Ethernet.
3. Open NAVconfig.
4. Select 'Modify configuration', 'Read settings from a device' and select your device from the dropdown menu. 
5. Once the configuration has been read off of the device, select the information 'i' icon in the bottom lefthand corner.
6. Open the 'Unlock feature codes' dropdown on the bottom of the page.
7. Using the 'Feature code file' input box, search for the directory where the feature code file is stored.
8. Once the directory is selected, click the 'Activate' button.
9. Once the file has been sent, navigate to the 'Write Configuration' tab of NAVconfig.
10. Select the 'Save changes and reset device' option and click the 'Commit' button.
11. Once the unit has reset, open Utilities > Device status > feature codes. This should now reflect the new functionality of the unit.
