We have recently improved the configuration settings of the Topcon receivers used in some OxTS products. It is strongly recommended that users follow the guide below to take advantage of these improvements, specifically, for benefits when utilising SBAS corrections and also GLONASS L2 signals.
Guide
The upgrade ought to be carried out using an Ethernet connection.
Files
Attached to this article are two files, mobile.tpc1 and mobile.tpc2. These are for the primary and secondary GNSS receiver respectively.
Setup
Power the unit and connect both antennas in an environment where satellites will be visible, this can be checked using NAVdisplay (NAVsuite available here).
The RJ45 Ethernet connector on the RT can be plugged in to a network hub. To connect it directly
to a laptop a crossover must be used. The RT is supplied with a suitable cable for connection to a
laptop computer.
If the upgrade is for the secondary GNSS card ensure you have enabled the secondary antenna in your configuration using NAVconfig (NAVsuite available here).
Opening the File System
Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) can be used to connect to the your OxTS product.
Open Windows Explorer. In the address box type: ftp://your.IP where your.IP the IP address of your product.
Explorer will show all the raw data files and the current configuration files that are stored on the unit.
Applying the Upgrade
Copy the mobile.tpc1/ mobile.tpc2 file onto the unit's file system.
Wait 20 seconds for the transfer to complete.
Turn the unit off and on again.
You ought to see that the .tpc files are no longer in the file system on the device if you refresh the window.
Once this process completes your upgrade is completed
